Have questions about giving, or want to learn more about how you can support the hospital? The Foundation team would love to hear from you.

Mountains Community Health Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides consistent financial support to Mountains Community Health. For more than 30 years, the Foundation has been the bridge between what our hospital needs and what our community helps to make possible.
Because of our donors, we’re growing! Our services continue and our doors remain open.

Rural hospitals across the country are struggling. Many will shut down entirely, forcing people in remote areas to drive long distances when they need care.
That hasn’t happened here. The reason is simple: this community invests in its hospital. Foundation gifts have funded critical equipment purchases, facility improvements, and programs that keep MCH operating at a level most rural hospitals can’t match. The Foundation has provided more than $5 million in patient care support in the last decade alone.
Foundation funding goes directly to Mountains Community Health. Here’s some of what donors have made possible in recent years:
3D mammography machine for earlier detection of breast cancer
80-slice CT scanner for advanced diagnostic imaging
Pyxis medication and supply dispensing system for the emergency department
BIOFIRE rapid diagnostic system for the laboratory
Cardiac, telemetry, and vital signs monitors for the ER, med/surg, and post-anesthesia care
Omnicell medication dispensing system for the pharmacy
Fully adjustable electric beds for skilled nursing and the medical/surgical unit
A 12-seat activity van and truck for skilled nursing residents
Mobile C-arm for the operating room
State-of-the-art gurneys for the emergency and medical/surgical departments
UV sanitization equipment for environmental services
Financial support for the $6 million seismic strengthening project
There’s no single right way to support MCH. Some people write a check once a year. Some set up a monthly recurring gift. Others sponsor an event, leave a bequest, or fund a specific piece of equipment. All of it matters.
The MCH Foundation Board is made up of community members who volunteer their time to ensure the hospital has the resources it needs. They’re your neighbors, and they care deeply about keeping healthcare accessible on the mountain.

We are grateful to every person, family, business, and organization that has contributed to Mountains Community Health.

In late 2025, the Foundation launched the Community Care Fund to help patients facing financial barriers get the care they need. As healthcare costs rise and federal funding faces uncertainty, this fund provides a safety net for mountain residents who might otherwise go without treatment.
